The short version

This site does not use cookies, advertising or analytics tracking, and does not sell or share your information with anyone. The only place it asks you for personal details is the Contact form.

Cookies

This site does not set any cookies of its own, and doesn’t use any advertising, analytics or other tracking scripts. The only thing it stores in your browser is the session storage flag described below, which is not a cookie.

The Contact form

If you use the form on our Contact page, you’ll be asked for your name, email address, an optional organisation, what you’d like to talk to us about, and your message. We only use this to read and reply to your enquiry — nothing else.

At the time of writing, this form is not yet connected to a live submission service, so it cannot actually send a message end-to-end — see the note shown on the Contact page itself if that’s still the case when you visit. Once it is connected, submissions will be sent to The Collective for the sole purpose of responding to your enquiry, and will not be used for any other purpose without telling you first.

Browser storage

The homepage uses your browser’s built-in session storage to remember that you’ve already seen the full-screen welcome, so it doesn’t show again if you revisit the homepage later in the same browsing session. This is not a cookie, holds no personal information, is never sent to our server or anyone else, and is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab.

Publication readers

Publications in The Collective Library are displayed using an embedded reader from Heyzine, a third-party service. Loading an embedded reader means your browser makes a request to Heyzine directly, which is subject to Heyzine’s own privacy practices rather than ours — we don’t control what, if anything, Heyzine collects when you use their embedded viewer.
